In short

AEGEE Toulouse runs food and wine tastings and dinners out around Toulouse, from wine and cheese tastings to oyster stalls, raclette nights and restaurant dinners. Each one is organised by a member, in English, and some have a real cost shown on the ticketing page before you book.

The format

Organised by the people eating with you

Every tasting or dinner is put together by an AEGEE Toulouse member, not a caterer, from a wine shop's back room to a market stall or a restaurant worth trying. Some follow a theme like cheese or oysters; others are simply a table booked for the group.

Two ways to taste it

Every tasting or dinner is put together by an AEGEE Toulouse member. Themes rotate through the year: each format below is a starting point, not a full programme.

Tastings

A theme and a table: wine, cheese, oysters or charcuterie, tasted together rather than eaten as a full meal. Usually the simpler way into the format, and the easiest for a small group to put together.

  • Wine
  • Cheese
  • Oysters
  • Charcuterie

Dinners out

A full meal together, at a restaurant worth trying or around a table at someone's place. Fewer of these than tastings, and usually the format with the real cost attached.

  • Restaurant nights
  • Home dinners

How do you take part?

Two steps, in this order: you cannot book a tasting or dinner before you are a member.

  1. Ask to join

Send AEGEE Toulouse a direct message on Instagram. No fee and no restriction: Erasmus or not, student or not, anyone who shares what the association stands for is welcome.

  2. Book your spot

Once you are a member, pick a tasting or dinner on the ticketing page. Spots are limited, so an early look at what is coming up is worth it.

Want to help organise a tasting or dinner?

Common questions

  • Are the tastings and dinners free?

No two ways around it: a restaurant dinner or a wine tasting usually has a real cost, shown on the ticketing page before you book. Joining AEGEE Toulouse itself is free, and some smaller tastings cost little to nothing.

  • What language are they in?

English. AEGEE Toulouse is a multilingual association, and its tastings and dinners run in English so that any international student can follow.

  • Do you need to be an Erasmus or exchange student?

No. There is no restriction at all: anyone who shares what the association stands for can join and take part.

  • Who organises the tastings and dinners?

AEGEE Toulouse members, not a caterer or an events company. Each one picks a theme or a place and puts the evening together.

  • How often do new tastings and dinners come up?

There is no fixed calendar: both formats are added through the year. What is currently open for booking is always on the ticketing page.

  • How can you help organise one?

By volunteering. Suggest a wine shop, a market stall, a cuisine or a restaurant worth the group's evening, and AEGEE Toulouse will help turn it into an event.
