In short

AEGEE Toulouse runs welcome sessions for international students arriving in Toulouse, from information booths and presentations to social mixers, so new arrivals meet the association from day one. Each one is run by a member, in English, and joining AEGEE Toulouse itself is free.

The format

The first face you meet

A table, a slideshow, or just a member ready to answer questions: welcome sessions take whatever shape a given fair or orientation day calls for. The constant is a member on the other side of it, there to explain what AEGEE Toulouse actually does before you join.

How AEGEE Toulouse says hello

Info booths at university fairs, presentations to a full room, or just a mixer over a drink: welcome takes a few different shapes, but a member is always the one running it.

And when it's time to say goodbye

Welcome is not the only bookend. When a semester ends and members move on, AEGEE Toulouse marks that too, with a farewell event that closes the semester the way the welcome sessions opened it.

How do you take part?

Two steps, in this order: you cannot book a welcome social before you are a member.

  1. Ask to join

Send AEGEE Toulouse a direct message on Instagram. No fee and no restriction: Erasmus or not, student or not, anyone who shares what the association stands for is welcome.

  2. Book your spot

Once you are a member, pick a welcome social on the ticketing page. Spots are limited, so an early look at what is coming up is worth it.

Want to help run a welcome or farewell session?

Every info booth, presentation and mixer runs on a member willing to show up and talk to strangers about what AEGEE Toulouse does. If you are comfortable explaining the association to someone who has never heard of it, AEGEE Toulouse is looking for you.

Common questions

  • Are the welcome sessions free?

Yes. Welcome sessions cost nothing to attend, and joining AEGEE Toulouse costs nothing either.

  • What language are they in?

English. AEGEE Toulouse is a multilingual association, and its welcome sessions run in English so that any international student can follow.

  • Do you need to be an Erasmus or exchange student?

No. There is no restriction at all: anyone who shares what the association stands for can join and take part.

  • Who runs the welcome sessions?

AEGEE Toulouse members, in person, not a printed leaflet. Each one is there to explain what the association does and answer questions on the spot.

  • Does AEGEE Toulouse only welcome, or does it also say goodbye?

Both. Alongside its welcome sessions, AEGEE Toulouse also marks the end of a semester with a farewell event for members who are moving on.

  • How can you help run a session?

By volunteering. If you can spend an hour at a table or a few minutes on a stage explaining AEGEE Toulouse to strangers, that is the whole job.
